OSA Fundraising & Special Events Committee Guidelines.
Statement of Purpose
- The purpose of the OSA Fundraising & Special Events Committee is to plan and implement fundraising activities and engage in contacting Conventions and other C.A. Special Event Committees about including the Online Service Area intheir planning and programming.
Committee Structure
- Chairperson
- Two years continuous sobriety.
- One-year commitment.
- Assumes the responsibilities of coordinating all Fundraising & Special Event activities within the committee.
- Keeps the Fundraising & Special Event calendar & flow charts.
- Vice-Chairperson
- One-year continuous sobriety .
- One-year commitment.
- Assists with coordinating Fundraising & Special Event activities within the Committee.
- In absence of Chairperson, performs the duties of Chairperson.
- Secretary
- Six months continuous sobriety.
- One-year Commitment.
- Keeps accurate minutes of each meeting.
- Handles correspondence and maintains the Groups.io file of business records and reports.
- Treasurer
- One-year continuous sobriety.
- One-year commitment.
- Gainfully employed and/or financially solvent.
- Account for all monies of the committee.
- Keeps accurate accounting of monies received and distributed.
- Prepares profit & loss statements.
- Coordinates with the OSA Treasurer on planned/projected costs of fundraising.
- Assists Committee with project budget proposals and projected income goals.
- Fundraising Project Lead
- One-year continuous sobriety.
- Single project commitment. Committee Members are welcome to step up to lead a specific project with group approval.
- Suggested six months continuous prior committee service.
- Submits reports to Secretary and Treasurer.
- Gathers committee members to serve as project secretary and additional support from the committee and elsewhere.
- Special Event Project Lead
- One-year continuous sobriety.
- Single project commitment. Committee Members are welcome to step up to lead a specific project with group approval.
- Submits reports to Secretary and Treasurer.
- Gathers committee members serve as project secretary and additional support from the committee and elsewhere.
- Merchandise Lead
- 1 year commitment.
- 1 year of continuous sobriety.
- Service experience of online meetings.
- Heads up Merchandise for the OSA store and liaises with webmaster to upload items to store.
- Committee Members
- No sobriety requirement.
- Experience helpful but not required.
- Willingness to serve.
- Fundraising
- Plans and coordinates 3 events per year to help raise money for the OSA.
- Collaborates with Unity Committee for Celebrate around the World event.
- Suggests a line item amount in the OSA Operating Budget.
- Obtains three quotes from vendors for fundraising items.
- Submits plans for approval from the committee.
- Keeps the Area informed of progress with monthly reports.
- Works with PI Committee for promotional materials.
- Recommends committee-approved plans to the Area.
- Sets up the sales team for annual CAWS Convention & Conference.
- Selects items for Fundraising and coordinates with the Webmaster for placement in the OSA Online Store.
- Special Events
- Plans and produces marathons and other special events for the OSA.
- Investigates and prioritizes opportunities for an OSA presence at high-profile C.A events and conventions, including World.
- Works with Convention Host City Program Committee to propose an OSA Meet & Greet event.
- Submits budget for OSA approval.
- Arranges for broadcasting/streaming speakers from Area/Regional events.
- Submits plans for approval from the committee.
- Recommends committee-approved plans to the Area.
- Coordinates giveaway & sales items from PI & Fundraising.
